We’re pausing to listen and learn how Pulse can best support the community.

Over the next couple of weeks, we’re dedicating all our efforts to connecting deeply with community organizations and other stakeholders across Downtown East. This initiative is a chance for us to pause, listen, and learn how Pulse can play a meaningful role in supporting those who are working to make our community a better place. By engaging directly with these vital groups, we hope to understand their needs and find ways to make a real impact, ensuring that our work aligns with the values and goals of the community we serve.

What is Pulse Blitz?

The Pulse Blitz is an outreach initiative focused on deepening our connections with the community. We’re reaching out to local nonprofits, cultural groups, and community organizations to understand their needs and find ways Pulse can best support the most vulnerable in our community. Whether it’s through sharing important stories, helping people discover local resources, or providing a platform for marginalized voices, we want to ensure that we’re laying the groundwork for meaningful impact as Pulse continues to develop.

Our Potential: While Pulse is still in its early stages, we’ve already started showcasing our potential through Vital Signs newsletters, MVP sneak previews, and articles on our blog. These examples represent our commitment to becoming a trusted resource for the community. Through the Pulse Blitz, we’re reinforcing our dedication to accessibility, inclusivity, and ensuring everyone has the information they need to thrive.

What does this mean for the rest of Pulse?

We’re hitting the brakes on most initiatives that aren’t pivotal to reaching out to the community. This means the Vital Signs newsletter might not be as fully featured as before and will focus more on Pulse and Pulse Blitz initiatives. Fewer articles will be posted on Pulse Picks, and those that do appear will likely be related to Pulse Blitz and Pulse efforts. The Pulse TXT service won’t be updated as frequently. This is because we’re focusing all of our attention on our community organizations—the lifeblood of everything at Pulse.

While we’re eager to check in with and support community organizations, Pulse remains an independent publication committed to serving the entire community. Our goal is to provide balanced, objective coverage that uplifts all voices while staying true to our mission.
